I put my female betta in the same tank as my male but in a glass chimney and the male every so often goes near the chimney and flares and goes swimming off somewhere else and he hasnt built his bubblenest what should I do?
Hmm. Are both bettas conditioned (@ least 2 weeks high quality feed)? Is the female showing her breeding stripes and is she full of eggs? How long have they been in that set up (sometimes it takes a while for the male to make his nest)?
Willtang - answer the questions about conditioning and if the female is ready. I can't very well give you advice if you don't. And consider betta momma's questions about the grow out tank; I don't know if you've bred before, but they can have literally hundreds of babies, all of which need space to grow out, individual containers when they start getting old enough to get violent, and then homes.
yer they both have been conditioned and the female shows vertical bars and I do have lots of room and if thats not enough my grandad owns a restraunt and have plenty of jars there
