This is my other thread
Shall i put him in the 5 gal or not(the tank has BEEN steralised)and is now fine!
His fins are quitye short now and im worried,plus hes ate on of my platys fins!
Im really worried but as the other tank ha n heating how shall i keep him warm any ideas please

OK, you have a betta with what you think of as a nipped tail. Are you sure it's not finrot? This is not unusual with a new fish, especially a betta. Do you see anything at all wrong with him beside that?

Before you do anything, set up the small tank in the warmest part of your home. Take some gravel from your big tank, and enough water to fill the small tank about 1/3 of the way up with dechlorinated water that is the same temperature as the main tank.

Let it settle for a few hours and then check the temperature. If it is close, and no colder than 75 degrees, you will want to move the betta there for treatment.

If you have MelaFix, add it to the water while you are doing the change.

Please let me know what is happening.
