please help my guppies tail is torn of quite a bit will he die?

How did your guppy's tail get damaged? A tear will heal, but you will want to be sure it doesn't happen again. If there is an aggressive fish in the tank, you will have to do something with it. If there is something sharp or pointy that your guppy could have rubbed against, you will have to fix or remove it.

If neither of these things happened, your fish might have finrot. It would help if you give us some more information about your fish and tank.

How big is your tank and how many fish do you have in it? How long has it been set up and what are your water parameters? (That's the ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte readings.) What is the temperature? What does the tear look like? Is it a clean cut or does it look raggedy or chewed? Are there any suspicious looking white spots or other things unusual about the fish's appearance?

Also, if you put your location in your profile, if we have to suggest a medication, we will have an idea what you might be able to get.
