This morning I found one of my platys laying on the sand with barely any tail left and gasping, I have no idea why. She was clearly suffering so I put her down. All water checks are good. Why did this happen?
What else is in your tank? She was most likely bullied / attacked and her tail damaged in that process. Can you post more info about your tank? Water parameters and inhabitants.
