Hi, I have a piece of manzanita wood that our bird used to use and pooped on and i wanted to put in my 10 gallon tank. I have scrubbed it twice with warm water and soap and it is sitting out in a bucket until it sinks. Is there anything else I should do to clean the wood before it goes in the tank? i am a little weary about using bleach because i used bleach on some gravel and it killed 4 of my fish and i am pretty sure it was the bleach because they died within 10 minutes of me putting it in there.
