my female betta just started to drop her eggs so i had no choice but to put her in with the male but his made basicaly no nest, have i dont the wrong thing!? quik help me before its too late!!!!

was she just dropping them with no male?
if she was i have never heard of this but if she has her strips then just keep an eye on her and the male but sometimes i female doesnt wait for a male to build a nest i have had this happen a few times but as he gets the eggs he makes one.

She may drop multiple sets of eggs. Hopefully your male will start building a nest if he is interested.

their like raping around each other now and eggs are comming out but his more concerned with building a nest than picking them up.. will he pick them up latter or will the eggs just die? -_-

wait now his picking the eggs up but they keep gettin knocked down... i think the eggs will survive if this spawn fails i will just try with a fresh lot in a few days.. o it is soo exciting and terrifying even though i have done it before hehe but im still a newb at this!!! so dont leave me alone !!! :)

OMG my platys just gave birth to some babys too wat the hells going on? is it the time of day or something? man im overwelmed in joy!!!! :d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D

im happy everything was succesful (soo far) and now is about the time the eggs should hatch because its been about 24 hrs since they where spawned,
hey i was reading up in my betta book and did u kno a female if left in a big enough can and will most proberly will spawn again with the male 3 days after their first spawn?

sometimes females drop eggs when no male is present. most of the time, they eat them. you shouldnt have rushed to put her in with the male as they are constantly producing eggs. its not like they produce eggs once a year. (hence why breeding bettas is easier than other fish-because htey can spawn at just about any time)

Yes females can be bred again quickly, but that doesn't mean you should. Females should be given at least 2-3 weeks and preferably a month to recover from the spawning. It takes alog out of her to produce the eggs and then all the interaction with the male, and she may even be injured from the male. So please do not consider spawning her again quickly, give her time to heal and relax and recover.

i totally agree, give her a few weeks to recover. i would never consider putting my females in again so soon after breeding or even attempting to breed. gotta treat those girls with respect ;)

i wasnt even going to use the same pair i kno she needs her rest, im just saying it is possible and thats proberly wat they do in the wild.. but anyway the next pair im going to breed is proberly going to be a blue with a blue, hmm i was wondering wat other colors is best to breed with a blue?

o btw my babies have hatched and i can see little tails all over the nest :D

sounds great fun!

i hope that their all ok, and that they grow big and strong! with beautiful colours!

i heard that in the wild, a female is only likely to bump into a male once in her lifetime, as they often live their whole lives in a muddy puddle! i was gobsmacked that they could live their whole life a smaller space as an animals footprint, if it has water in it to make it a puddle! amazing lil fishes!!!

yeah i know but thats how theyve evolved so u dont need a filter, but i still have one :) anything for my little bettas :) i heard ur starting up a breeding operation hows that going? :)
