wat happens if u dont condition a breeding pair before breeding???

How about dropping a male and a female together and conditioning them both in the tank (with the female cowering behind a rock as the male takes over the tank)?

I'd say it's a good idea to place them in a tank with a divider. Have you checked the pinned thread, by the way?

As for me, what I said was pretty much what I did to my gouramis. It's what my research has told me is best. Most of the stuff I've read states that you should give the female a few days alone in the tank to make sure she gets used to it before adding the male. I did that, but the male is still really aggressive and has sent her into hiding.

If you go to a new forum, i.e. the emergency forum, at the top there are a handful of posts with icons that are different from other icons. There's a partition and a bunch of normal thredas underneath it.

These threads are written by "experts" and they have good advice (albeit somewhat condensed). It's a good place to start, though.

The bubblenest thread should be in either fish breeding or bettas and gouramis. HTH
