I have a 50 gallon with 2 red swordtails
1 krib
and 1 tiger barb
I tested the water and everything was fine.

The 2 swordtails and the pleco are healthy
but the tiger barb and krib arent
their eyes seem to be bulging out of the sockets and are surrounded by white stuff.

Also I have lost 3 tigers and 1 krib over the course of a week, but not from disease or anything.

Help please. :(

Hi Master Drummer,

Sounds like your fish have a fungus. One of my plattys had the same eye thing happening. I used Maracyn to treat her and it worked beautifully. It's relatively simple to use, you just drop the tablets in according to size of your tank for 7 days.

Also, do some water changes. I do about 20% water changes every other day. From what I've learned, water quality has a lot to do with the health of your fish.

If you can, you may want to move the barb and krib to a separate tank. If the other fish aren't showing signs of disease you don't need to treat them. But watch them very carefully to make sure they remain healthy.

I wish you and your fish the best!
