Wouldn't do a CAE. They aren't good algae eaters, and as they get older...they get down right mean and very teritorial.

any nice small catfish that wont turn into mindless killers thats are small an easy to look after?

to be fair... not many that are suitable for a 10 gallon cold water tank.

how about a hill stream loach - I've always liked them but dont have a cold water tank...

Dont know - your mixing cold water fish with tropical - you'll have to wing it and see what happens.

OK - Sub tropical
room temp tank should be fine.
