Aerate the water ASAP to drive off the CO2, run an airstone or agitate the surface of the water until they show signs of recovery.

im on it
what about a water change?

Garuf if its pretty bad you could also remove the fish from the tank and put them in dechlorinated freshwater in a bucket or something, use half tankwater and half freshwater so as not to shock the fish to badly, just do the best you can under the circumstances, I have done this once under similar circumstances and it worked out fine. A 50% water change of the tankwater would probably have the same effect and obviously switch off the CO2.

Good luck

i had the same prob on tues , i did a 50% water change and ran a small internal filter for 24hrs it did the job all the fish survived. regards john
got it water change done fish in a bucket pump in the tank
i hope they survive:(

urghhh stupid bloody drop checker, mushy peas colour only makes them short of breath :(

If your drop checker is green then you haven't got too much CO2 in there. I've had mine so it's nearly yellow and the fish have been OK. Your fish are suffering because the tank is low in oxygen.

yeah I assumed the same but my otos are in hiding possibly dead and the rainbows are fluttering about as though they're dying very distressing.
my drop checker musnt be set up right because a tank that pearls as well as mine must have a load of co2 in there
