Well I made a post about two days ago but no one replied, so I'm making another since it's now worsened. One of my males was acting funky, he'd dart around the tank, knocking into the glass every once and a while, then he'd stop. He was in a 2.5g with some pimafix because someone said it was most likely something internal. I just found him a few minutes ago, laying on the bottom of the tank on his side, his fins a very dark color, I thought he was dead but I nudged him with my finger and he started wriggling. I freaked out and now he's in a hospital jar with nothing but clean water and stress coat, he's kind of moving now but is still just laying there. What do I do? :-(

edit: he's also breathing heavily..

How old is he? It could be he is suffering from age-related issues. If it is internal, I'm not sure Pimafix is the right thing but I don't know for sure. If it's internal, and you can figure out what, you could feed him medicated food if he will take it.
Does he seem really bad off? He sounds like he is doing poorly. Try googling a symptons chart online for fish diseases and going through that. Sorry I can't be of much more help, I'm trying to deal with a fish that has HITH currently so I understand your dilemna.

Tricky as he seems to have no definitive symptoms. As he's breathing heaviy, I'd be inclined to aerate the tank as much as possible to help him out. Also, keep the water as clean as possible. Difficult to suggest more as from what you've described I've no idea what he's got!

Sounds like he has an internal bacterial desease or dropsy mine went like that. Does he have a pitted stomach, are his scales up,do his eye look buldging,is he bent and swims funny thats dropsy.Internal bacteria desease can just kill with no obvious symptoms although dark colourings is one of them.
You can treat him with anti internal bacteria, you will need to put him in a tank with an air stone.
Although you do say he is at the bottom of the tank now which im affraid is the final stages of it, if he is having trouble breathing it would be upto you if he is to be treated or not because medication lowers the oxygen.
I am giving you this advise through my own experiences of internal bacteria desease and dropsy and i know how you feel as it is frustrating watching fish dieing and nothing seems to work its a 50/50 chance.
Good luck :)

This sounds more like poisoning than anything else. What exactly is in his tank? Can you get a bottle of spring water? Better yet, RO water with a pinch of baking soda?

If he's dark in colour it's and indication of a bacterial infection, and they can heavy breath with bacteria infections, plus another sign is they lay on the bottom, but once they do that, sometimes there isn't much hope, sorry.
