I've been looking for some otos at the 2 LFS and all i could find at one of the shops were sucker fish wich looked a bit like oto's ( im not that used to them) but could of been somthing different.

so, are these oto's or somthing near enough to buy?

They sound like chinese algae eaters to me --proper name is gyrinocheilus aymonieri and I didnt buy them yesterday as I have read that they most likely will be aggressive when older
If you look up www.thetropicaltank.co.uk under fish index they show pictures of cae,sae and otos
Cae are just sold as algae eaters in a lot of shops.
Im heading off at the weekend armed with a picture and the scientific name of each

I would disagree with CAE. They look nothing like Oto's IMO.

They were more than likely either true Siamese Algae Eaters or Flying Foxes.

Be careful though. Whilst Otos only grow to a couple inches max the above two can reach upto six inches.

If they in fact CAE then I would stay away from them altogether.

When young they will fight with each other (i note you said you wanted two) and as they get older they will stop feeding on algae and turn their attentions to your fish, feeding on their slime coats, causing immeasurable damage and probable death.

I know that otos and cae look dont look like each other but I was just stating the possibility that the shop was selling them as sucker fish.A lfs near me has all the cae just marked as algae eaters so it pays to be careful as I would have ended up buying two if I hadnt done a bit of research first .Just trying to make sure Matt dosent make that mistake
