Hi

when i first got vista i was able to click on an icon in the bar at the bottom which said 'switch between windows' and every window i had open popped up as a screenshot and it was pretty cool, but now it just comes up with a box and the name of that window

any ideas how to change it?

Hope not to freak you out, but my Vista PC died on me  no, I'm serious.

so far it has been running since March, only 1 problem but Dell sorted it out by taking control of my PC, great service :)

i forgot about this thread actually, anyone know??

easy...................................

press and hold the windows button (pic of the ms flag on ya keyboard) and press tab it will allow you to flick through the open windows as you have described

Only works if aero is running tho

edit alt + tab does the same thing but the old fasioned way

thanks but that is what i am saying, aero isnt working at all, is there any software that you can download?

XP sp3 Glass!!!!! well at least it works. when this happens, its most likely that your system does not have enough resources to run it, only one gig of ram being the fav cause. reduce your screen resolution see if that helps. olso set 32 bit colours. XP is better all round! I run both os, xp on my desktop and vista on my xps lappy, vista is a disaster, that's why MS made sp3 for xp coz none of their big customers will run it! vista is two hundred quids worth of bugs! mind you i have never bothered looking at the higher end versions of Vista, perhaps thy are better, wouldn't take much.

it used to work before!

processor: Intel® Core(tm) Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.2GHz
memory (RAM): 1GB
system type: 32bit
screen resolution: 1440 x 900

Vista came with the PC (it is 'business' version)

Thanks.

i have managed to do it :D

Perosnalise > windows colour & appearence > appearence settings > choose windows aero > apply.

it was set on 'windows vista basic'

Thanks.

yep, Vista changed it because there are not enough resources. its hungry for memory, 1gb is just not enough, unless you only use it for browsing.
