Fish Herder
Hi everyone - long time no see!
I purchased a spotted raphael cat awhile back now and he has been growing quite well.
I recently noticed (since he hides much of the time) that his left fin is completely gone down to the bone. It almost seems to have a fungus of some sort (although it is not white) so it may just be his slime coat that i'm seeing. the area surrounding the fin is also very red and it is tough to tell if the missing scales/skin/flesh is spreading or not since he hides so much.
I guess i am wondering the best way to go about helping him out. I know cats dont deal well w/ salt so i guess i was just hoping you could throw out suggestions on how to diagnose and to help fix it. He is in a community tank so I would isolate him to a hospital tank of sorts in order to treat.
Thanks in advance.
