Hi all,

Ive caught a Mantis from my LR and I am now going to be posting it to someone who wants it. Could you give me any tips or advice on how to post him?

Thanks, Michael

Well...if it were a fish it wouldnt be too hard. Uhh as far as the shrimp goes...just make sure he cant break or tear whatever you put him in. Pad the box and interior very well. Also insulate it very well...both against heat or cold. Make sure you mark on it live animal. And always overnight it....anyone else wanna chime in?

Ive seen some people use glass bottles, ie the old glass coke bottles to transport shrimps. Have 1/3rd or less water, 2/3rds air, surrounded by newspaper or other insulating material, posted in a box overnighted. And hope it survives.

Hi,

Thanks for the info so far.

I have a glas milk bottle, so i am thinking of using that, But any ideas how to seal the top off?

THe weather he in England is pretty hot, so I hope it will be ok travelling, I will insulate though and send next day delivery.

Michael

I would have thought a tupperware box, 1/3 water, 2/3 air, wrapped in brown tape sounds like the way I might do it. It's up to you though mike :)

I would be very weary of when you send it though. England weather ATM is quite warm (so ive heard), so even with suitable insulation depending on how long it takes the postal service, you might find your eating shellfish for dinner. Try sending it in as cooler weather as possible, but not winter. :good:

Hi,

Is gone a bit cooler the last few days, I am sending him today next day b4 9am delivery. So we are hoping he will be ok!
