Help With Pleco

i bought a 8inch pleco today and it poo's so much, is their any type of fish which will eat it or something?

Not unless the Plec isn't digesting the food properly, even then other fish will only eat the good bits in it.



Plecs are IME the dirtiest fish in terms of waste. I'm afraid you're looking at regular vacuuming of the substrate. I reckon two or three times a week with a Plec that size.



Is he a Common Plec? If so, he will end up at least twice his current size so I hope you have a nice big tank for him

yep theres the filter fish or the rare syphon fish

cheers for the advise, see i have a 3ft tank but you cant see it on my 4inch pleco because i put in gravel but my new 5ft i have put in sand

yep thats plecs for you, other day my gibbicep did a poo which was nearly from one end of the 5ft to the other end syphon fish to the rescue
