Hey guys so one of the plants in my 29 gallon is causing some confusion. I have had a few different identifications given to me and was hoping the pro's at fish forums could solve the mystery.

I have been told it is even like a hybrid strain of wort etc etc..

Here is the picture, this is an old picture from when the plants were just being transferred I am using this one since it is much easier to see the plant here than in the actual environment it is in now ( planted heavily with driftwood ).

The Sword / Anubis in this picture obviously aren't the one, it is  the large one in the center backgruond, look closely at the leaf pattern etc it is really strange like a hybrid.

It looks like a hygrophillia species to me.

It does indeed look a lot like a hygrophila. They often have different emmersed growth to their submerged growth, so it would look different if it's come in new from a supplier that grew it emmersed.

Hmm.. so is there any real way of actually figuring it out exactly?

I googled hygrophillia  and I can't find any species that has vine line appearances like mine has. It is so strange this plant, it has zero backbone to survive anywhere but submersed though. It is a very soft green vine with those leaf growths on it but instead of each "vine" being its own like plant it does have a regular root system like that of a sword plant.

Hmm, looks more like a bacopa monnieri type plant to me.

Although if you're thinking hybrid of hygrophila and to me hygrophila polysperma type seems closest imo but hard to tell really.

Yeah the polysperma hybrid of the hygrophila looks similar but its still not that exact species as it seems. Anyone know of a good plant expert that might be able to help me? I want to find out more about the speicies so I can do some correct splitting of it.
The problem with bacopa monnieri is that it grows typically much straighter and a little different looking than this I am having such a hard time identifying it.
