I just got my first aquarium for xmas and its been up and running for just over a week now. To start off with I planted three egeria densa's. Before I put them in I trated the water and added some plant gro. Unfortunatly the plants aren't doing very well, on each of the plants the leaves are beggining to go brown and they are not looking to healthy. The temp in the tank is set at 26c, is this too high? Any other ideas why theyre not growing as planned would be much appriciated.

Your Elodia densa absorbs its food from the water and new aquariums have no natural fertilizer in them. Elodia also does not do well when packed into a small area which it normally is at the store. After your tank has been running for a few weeks you can get some new plants and start growing them again. Always look for brown leaves on elodia and reject any that have brown leaves particularly anywhere but at the very bottom.
