Two weeks ago i bought another 2 baby bns to go with my bn that is about 4 months old. The two babies are probably 1 1/2" long and they are growing fast :D

Today however i noticed that one of them has what looks like a white spot about 1/2cm behind it's eye towards the end of his body. As he is so small it's a bit difficult to work out what it is. All the other bns seem fine, and they are as busy as ever cleaning everything. Is this something i should be worried about? I have put some stress coat in the tank just to repair the slime coat in case it is something stuvk on him.

Any ideas?

I've tried to get some pics, but it's quite hard due to the size of the plec and the reflection off the glass.
Here's 2 pics - not great and very blurred but the best i can get tonight. you can just about see the white circle on this one:

This one is even more blurred, but you can just see him stciking out in front of the pot

Do you think it could be ich?

looks like hes been sleeping inbetween the heater and the glass they love it there and of course get burnt

cheers dane

The heater is covered in my tank as i am using a biolife internal filter. Would it still be possible that he could get burnt - they do like hanging around near there come to think of it.

Is there anything i can do to make sure that it doesnt get worse?

I will try to get a better picture tonight to upload. Hopefully he'll stay still enough for me!

they have to hang on the heater to get burned until we get a clear pic of him even if you have to take him out the tank for a few mins while you take a pic

1 it will be easier to id whats up
2 we will tell you how to prevent it

cheers dane

OK, after spending 20 minutes trying to catch him and put him in an breeding trap i have managed to get some better pics. Hopefully these should be clearer.

So it looks like the white patch is getting worse on my baby bn - i think it looks like a sore of some type. It doesnt look cotton wool like so last night i treated with Interpet internal Anti-bac. Is there anything else i can do?

I've managed to get some more pics which hopfully show the sore in a bit more detail. There have been no new additions to the tank and i normally carry out a water change every week (approx 15%). I'm worried that this may spread to my other 2 bns, especially as the larger one looks like he either has some white 'stuff' on his neck or this is just his colourings. Can anyone make out what is up with this plec?

I'm currently treating with an internal anti-bac. Should i be using anti fungus and finrot instead, or is this something completely different? Please help.

I also managed to catch the larger bn - does it look like he has a white bank across his neck too? Or is this just his colouring?

Looks to me like he has hurt him self and when healing fungas has got to it best thing to use or that i prefer tomuse esha meds give it a go with that stuff and see how it goes

cheers dane

Dane, cheers for this. I will try and get hold of this esha med as it seems to treat everything when i looked on the web. I am currently treating with internal anti-bac and was wondering if i cant get gold of the esha meds, should i be using an anti finrot & fungus treatment instead?

well it looks like an injury to me,
it could be a fungal infection
i suggest go ahead and using the med the other person suggested.
good luck
