Hi can someone help, we've recently put an ACF in our large tank along with our fish, Kribs, swordies, beta and cory's and 1 silver dollar although I'm sure she's too big to be a dollar.

Since putting Homer the frog in my beta has lost all her tails and when i got up this morning my beautiful swordie has had his tail eaten aswell.

My frog is an Albino one and is fed on bloodworm, could it be him that is mauling my fish do they have a habit of doing this???

Would appreciate any help.

african CLAWED frogs are knwon to eat things live even fish somewhat bigger than it.....they do there killing at night usually, has to be seperated and kept with nothing, maybe jus snails...

I second the frog with fish is not a good idea! The pet shop said my frog will be ok with the fish, even the bristlenose which will kill both of them if the frog tries to eat him due to the spine on his back, hence a swift upgrade for the fish was made.

It is also not a good idea feeding the ACF just bloodworm, its like us living on sweets, reptomin and others (i use turtle food) are much better, it contains calcium for their growing bones, and nutrients for their health, but bloodworm is a good occasional treat for them.

ADF's can be ok with some fish because they stay tiny.
ACF's can't! they'll grow big (about 10" i've heard) and swallow all your fish.

ACF females can grow to over 6" while the males are generally smaller, not including legs i think. Only the males croak, the females have noticable flaps between their back legs from about 10months old.
