over the last month or 2 i have had 2 of my 4 corys flashing. there are no other external sympyoms and non have died. they feed ok and are active, perhaps a little less than expected but not static. my water is good with 0's and nitrate only ever reaching 20. ive treated for worms but still they flick! no other fish are doing this in the tank just the corys. in my old tank i had the same prob but most fish were flashing i treated for ich but it wasnt that so treated with wormer plus and anti internal bacteria and it all stopped until i set up my new tank, then it started again but just the corys.....
i dont want to keep hitting the tank with meds but would love to get it sorted soon as its getting a bit tedious and annoying! i just want healthy fish like anyone would.
i do regular weekly water changes and keep on top of the tank so its not bad water or husbandry.
i have added new fish that have been in qt tank and they are fine.
i have 4 more corys in qt that i want to add next week but dont want them to start flashing too (as they were a bit hard to get hold off, if you followed another topic of mine)
why is it just the corys and why only 2 out of the 4 in the tank?
please help its driving me nuts
i do have a topic in the disease section that wilder has been trying to help me but no luck so far....
i was also told it could be the aloe vera in stress coat so i swapped dechlor to aquasafe for the last 40% change (yesterday)

Hi mattlee :)

I've seen corys do this shortly after water changes too, but they usually stop by the next day. It could be that their gills are irritated from all the medication you've treated them with. Hopefully there is no permanant damage. I would leave them be for a while and see what happens. :D
