Hi,

I set up my new tank and set the filter away working fine. However I am not sure how to get the air flowing through extra tubes. I have a pirate ship that blows bubbles when connected to the air flow which I seem to have done but it dows not look like the air is getting through at all.

Any help??

Are you not supposed to use an airpump for bubbles? The 3+ has an inlet on it's hose which acts as a venturi. Meaning that you can put an airline from a pump into it!!!

They are supplied with an air tap that fits into the inlet point so why bother with an air pump?

As for the ornaments, you will need a separate air pump to supply the air to them. Never use your filter as an air supply.

Ok cheers. Is is essential that I have bubbles are not. The filter is flowing well and creating good surface movemnet. Just wondering if I should still be having bubbles.

If the filter is creating surface aggitation then unless your tank has small surface area for it's volume the bubbles are just 'for you' pretty much. You don't have to have them, but as others have said if you want them you need to connect an airpump to your ornaments. The air hole on the filters is usually to let air IN to the filter into the water stream to create fine bubbles at the filter output. This does not normally need to be fed from an airpump as it is drawn in by the venturi effect, but I do not know the specifics of your filter.
