HI,

We have a male betta, and yesterday we bought a female betta (splenda) to keep him company / breed. We later found that the females will survive better in pairs, so we bought another female today.

All the male has done is harass the females, even to a point where the smallest female has lost some of her tale fins.

We dont want to be cruel leaving them in there, we dont know if it is him being a bit randy! or whether he feels threatened by them.

Some advice quick would be grateful!!!!!

take out the females! whoever said you could keep males in with females was wrong. males don't need company and should be alone with no other betta, females should be in groups of 4 or more in a 10 gallon+, with NO males.
