Betta fish should come with a warning that they will take over every spare moment of your life.
I am new to fish keeping. I started out buying a 60litre tank for my daughter, who wanted a few fish for her birthday. A few platys later and their subsequent offspring and our first tank came to life. That’s probably where it should have ended but then I discovered Betta fish.
I am no expert and find all the colour and variations mind boggling but I adore these fish. I bought a male and later a female and did my research into breeding them. Everyone said it was really difficult to successfully breed them but I thought I’d try once and then separate them. I’d lined up homes and a local pet supplier to take the fry in case I was successful but I didn’t expect to be.
Well, here I am now with 15 babies and I don’t want to part with them. My house is now covered in 20-30 litre tanks housing each one with a few females in the community tank. I don’t know the colour types but would be keen to know if anyone can help with this if I post photos of them. They haven’t got their full colours yet but some of you expects might be able to spot what they’ll be.

Thank you for the responses. I never knew fish were so hard to capture in a photo. Here’s the first few of the offspring of my two adult Bettas. Any idea on colour type or are they too young to tell yet? Thank you

To hard to tell from those photos... could be a “Marble” coloration. Aka, a betta that changes colors. Looks that way to me from the pictures.

Thank you. Do you think all four fish are the marble colouration? I know the photos are poor I was rushing and typically they kept moving!
