Help With 30gb Ipod Video

Hey everyone,

Just wondered to see if anybody could help me with something. I bought a 30GB Ipod Video and am finding it hard to get videos on it and to get them to work. I had a ipod mini so I know how to put songs on properly and it works fine with songs. I just dont know how to put the videos on the ipod. Its not a fault with the unit. Thanks in advance

The ipod mini was really easy and simple to use. But the ipod video is abit harder..... No there isnt a error. Just cant figure how to do it.

If it's the same as my video nano, then go to 'file', 'add file to library', then find the video you want to put on it and import it to iTunes.

Next, plug in your iPod, and select it on the left pane so it shows info about it . Then select the 'movies', 'music videos' or 'podcasts' tab and you can tell the ipod what to sync with every time you plug it it (options like all the videos in itunes, just some selected videos, most recent ect.) .

Also are your videos converted to a format that plays on a video iPod? Mpeg4 I think works.

iPods have plenty of substance, you just gotta learn how to use em. I had way more trouble using the Samsung music player than the iPod.

Yep i've worked it out. It helps when you have the latest version of itunes All solved. Thanks for everybody's help.

Ok so my original question I have worked out the answer. But now my next question is. How do you change a .mpg file into a .mp4 file?? I tried to use the thing in itunes to change it over to a .mp4 file but the sound wont work. Im normally pretty good with technology I was reading somewhere the other day that said about 2 programs that could convert them from .mpg into a .mp4 but im on a different compter and cant remeber the programs Any help would be awesome.

Try googling Roxio Popcorn. It's going to do the trick if you can find a PC version.

Or if you are on a Mac, get handbrake. It'll also decode your DVD's so you can transfer them the the iPod.

Checked into it more and they now have a Windoze version of Handbrake as well.
