Help with 20 Gallon setup

Hey I would like some suggestions on what other types of fish I can add to my 20 gallon. I would like maybe two more.

Right now I have one african cichlid (shouldnt be in there), one bala shark (also shouldnt be in there), 6 Zebra Danios, and a clown pleco.

I know I shouldnt have the first two in this small of a tank but i didnt know that when I bought them and not I dont want to get rid of them.

Yes eventually I will upgrade my tank. Possibly to 55 Gallons. Right now Id like to know what else I can put in my 20.

How big are the cichlid and bala? Bala sharks are shoaling fish, and do best with more of their own kind. The cichlid, when it gets larger, will kill your danios. I would suggest some cories, maybe 3.

The Cichlid and Shark are both around 2-3 inches long and both dont bother the Danios (yet).

Sounds to me like you might be fully stocked already. And of course you will be overstocked once that cichlid and bala shark grow a little!

I have a friend with a 29 Gallon who has a bala shark in there, and let me tell you he's not a happy camper. He's always running into the walls and decorations, and has messed himself up a few times. He's just too big for the tank. I feel real bad. I'd take him , but i have a 37 gallon (same tank length).

If i were you I'd just look into getting the 55 gallon now, and maybe keep the danio's and other smaller fish in the 20 gallon. But that's just me, i'm always looking for an excuse for just one more tank!
