huya well i have a WHOLE shelf im my room sitting doing nothing

so do u think it would be ok to have afew (Like 5) beanie boxes on them for bettas

roughly around 1.5 gallons each

it would be my new over the summer project thing :p

so anyways i have afew questions

1)how much does a beanie box cost
2)where do u get them from?
3)would it be easier to cycle or not(just clean out afew times a week)
4)will they be ok unheated(my house is pretty warm...too warm lol)
5)will they not stress eachother out next to eachother

any other advice apreciated

ive heard you can get them at like micheals or somthing
i wouldnt cycle just do wcs
i think they are like 4-5 $ each
i would think they would be ok unheated mine are but my houe stays hot
to keep them from seeing eachother stick a peice of construction paper in between each of them

hope that helps :p

thanks guys for the help :D
another ques

substrate or none?

and im in the UK any ideas on where to get them here :D

ii am a makem alright lol!

anyway
also anyone got any pics of this sort of setup!

No substrate makes it easier to clean up crud between water changes (with a turkey baster!)

Don't block their view, it will add stimulation and I promise they do get used to it. Mine kind of hang about together at their divider, sometimes flaring, or sometimes just following eachother lazily.

here is a beanie box

and they dont hold much.. about 32oz or less... so they are good for shows and jarring and making barracks

This is the cheapest I've found to order them ... shipping is high though...a craft store would be a better place to find them if you only want a few.

Beanie Boxes

They arent very big because they are designed to hold Ty beanie babies ... which are quite small

I believe that somewhere there exists a "beanie buddy" box, designed to hold a much larger stuffed toy (maybe even a gallon of water), but I havent looked for them very hard yet.

I have mine like that on a shelf and mine didn't really notice their neighbor much. I guess it depends just on how far apart they are and on each betta's personality. I went the aquaview route myself. They come with a light and lid so I don't worry about anyone jumping out. :) Since I don't use heaters, the little light adds a tad of heat to the water and they stay around 79 - 80 degrees all the time. The substate is totally up to you really. I like to keep a little bit on the bottom. I think it looks better personally. :) However you do it, it sounds like a fun summer project and a bunch of new bettas getting a good home is always a good thing.

:D

ok this is the plan
correct anything you think is a bad idea please thanks

i want to use a 1gal bowl i found them for £5 eachin a pet store and theyre round about 1.5-2 gallons
