The baby put a few handfuls of flaring Berta fish crumbles in my fish tank. The crumbles are to much for the filter. What should I do? There is still food floating in the tank. There is more in the tank than just the photo. The filter is pushing the rest around. He also lost the lid. Should I put the food in another container with a lid?

use a fish net to remove as much as you can.
Then do a full gravel vac of the substrate and change out 75% of the water. Check your ammonia levels for the next couple of days and if it rises, do another gravel vac and large water change. Rinse the filter media in water removed from the tank. You probably should also thoroughly rinse out the filter housing including the inlet tube if it's a HOB filter.

You can keep the food in a ziplock bag or put them in a container with a closed lid. If your fish is bloated from eating too much, stop feeding them a day or two and feed them boiled peas without it’s shell.

Then put the bag/container somewhere the toddler can't reach it.
