Help! Tank Heater Broke!

My tank heater broke, it was my bad, I forgot to turn the heater off before changing the water, the heater cracked in half, I am worried if there are any mercury in the heater help!

100% water change?

I don't know of any heaters that have mercury in them. Certainly no heaters that have been built during the last 10 yrs should have mercury in them.
You can do a water change if you like but I have had heaters break in tanks and never caused a problem to the fish.

have done this a few times myself, dont worry, just make sure there are no small shards of glass fallen off and, dont try to repair it
