I know its variable and dependent on fish size etc,
however
"Roughly" how many fish can i house in a 48x15x18 tank please
(average size fish - nothing massive)

well going by the 1cm/ litre rule, you could have something along the line of 30 shoaling species that grow no bigger than 1.5" and maybe a centre peice fish such as gouramis (pair) rams(pair)
