Help -Snapped Filter Spindle!

I was cleaning the tetratec ex700 external this morning and i some how snapped the spindle about quarter the way down,i tried super glue but it started to melt it and wouldn't stick

So last ditch attempt i turned the whole spindle around so the snapped part is near the bottom of the housing,it does appear to be working at the moment,but how long will it last like that???

I doubt whether i'll be able to get one local,so will need to order online.

I'm concerned it'll pack up completely...
