Hi. I have currently got a Rusty (L077?) and a medium spot Gold Nugget (L018?) in my 300l 4 foot new world Cichlid tank. It is filtered by a Fluval 405 and a Aqua One 1250 so it is well filtered.

The question is, could I add another Pleco? I am looking at either a Three Beacon (L091) or a Green Phanton (L200?). Thanks in advance

Yes, provided there are enough territories I can't see any issues.

I have lots of bogwood and rocks which split the tank up nicely so yes there are lots of territories. Thanks for that, I will give it a whirl.

As long as they each have their own 'spot', and pick species that are hardly aggressive.

I know that the Gold Nuggets can be aggressive to their own kind, but I mine seems to get on with my Rusty. Does anybody know if the L091 or L200 are aggressive?

I have kept both versions of 200 (Hemi and Bary) and neither were.

Go for the Bary (Hi-fin) if you can, a much prettier fish.

LFS has got some LDA33 in. I think that I will get one of these once they settle in as only just arrived. They are gorgeous though

Baryancistrus are notoriously hard to acclimate.

My advice would be to reserve one but leave it in the shop for anything up to a month, this will ensure it is feeding in a tank environment.

No problem, happy to help.

They are ultimately satisfying to keep, once you are through the hard part.

Very slow growers though, very hard to replicate a high flow, aufwuchs heavy environment in a typical community set up.

Gold Nuggets are Baryancistrus aswell arnt they? If so, then I know what you mean about slow growing. I have a medium spot one and it only seems to have grown by a few cm's since March! I have quite a lot of flow in my tank for it and often see it surfing the current on the sidewall at night.
