its not ich, or any other desiease i know. but he just sorta lays on the bottom of the aquarium, barely moving! what am i going to do! i cant lose my red tail! HELP!

i don tknow the water perimeters. tank mates: i bgk, i peacock eel, 4 rosey barbs, 6 buenos aires, 1 lyertail, 1 albino bristlenose pleco, i pictus catfish, 4 corys, 1 honey gourami.
no injuries.

Black Ghost Knife Fish grow pretty huge, but I assume you already know that. How long have you had the Read Tail Black Shark? Has it been bullied? It is possible it could be something to do with your water parameters so you should try to get a test done asap, either buy a test kit, or a lot of LFS will test for you for a small charge.

is it breathing heavy RTBS do stay still for long periods of time mine sits on the bottom for hours yet he is perfectly healthy

^ Agree with the above. If the shark is a healthy black colour (not pale looking) and is breathing normally, then it is pretty normal for RTBS to hide for long periods of time at the bottom of the tank (usually in a cave or bheind some plants etc).

My RTBS spends most of his time motionless hiding under a rock cave, doesn't even come out in the open at feeding time. Only see him when I lift the rock for weekly tank clean. He seems healthy though

They seem like shy little fellas! As long as they are happy and healthy :good: Whatever floats their boat

hmmm.......actually its the red tail that bullies the other fish, so no.

well, he DOESNT seem to be breathing VERY heavily.

oohhh.........ok thats good.

yay! thanks everybody for your help!

feed it some shelled peas. I have found mt RTBS and clown loach have a bad habbit of eating too much and getting bloated
