Okay, well, the inevitable finally happened, and I've got two pregnant guppies. I have no idea how to take care of fry, and I don't want them to end up as food. At first I thought I was going to give them away to a lfs, but then I realized they will probably just use them as feeder fish. Is this true?

What the heck can I do.

Whats wrong with useing them as feeder fish? IOf you keep them with your guppies they will become that (or atleast some of them will) but as far as what to feed them they can eat crushed up flakes. If you plan on keeping all of the fry expect to spend a few thousand dollars a year for new tanks and such seeing as how you need at least a gallon a guppy and after about 6 months you get 30 fry per female per month.

u dont really hafta take care of them when my feeders square up i put them in a breeder box until they give birth but it will only be about 5 at first and i raise them in the breeder box on crushed flakes they r doing fine and they r almost ready for a fishes tummy

Well, I'd rather them be given to people as pets rather than as food :/

I don't want to keep them.. I just don't know what to do with them. Isn't there anyone out there that would take them and raise them to sell as pets? They will be fancy tailed..

Unless you are really lucky you will not be able to find homes for all your guppies unless you start to pay people to take them. If you raise them to where they start to show there colors they may sell but you will probably only get a quarter for an inch long fish.

I'm not really interested in selling them.. and I don't think I have the capabilities to raise them. I was just hoping there was somewhere I could give them away, where they'd be raised and sold as pets. But I guess that's not possible. :/

Sry to burst your buble like that :( From your other posts I now see that you are anti-feeder but guppies are simply too prolific to become pets all the time. all populations must reach a sealing and form what is called a logistics curve I'll post a topic and a picture and edit in the link.
