Hi all,

I have just joined, and will hopefully be around a while to learn as much as possible :good:

I have recently brought 2 baby Oscars, each around 2". They are currently in a 40ltr tank. After doing some reading, i now know this is too small (I know i should have done some more research first, but i fell in love with them and listened to the advice from the store owner) I will be purchasing a bigger one within the next week. I am thinking about the Juwel Rio 400. I can't seem to find anything bigger, unless i have it made. Which i am also considering.

I have found the Rio 400 with all of the equipment, basicly i would like to know if this equipment is good enough, or if i should be looking at buying the tank and possibly buying better equpiment seperately. Thankyou. :good:

Here is a list of the equpiment that comes with the tank.

The Rio 400 Aquarium and Cabinet by Juwel is equipped with:
Two Juwel High Lite Light Units 150cm for 2x54 Watt 1200mm Tubes each
Two Juwel High Lite Day, T5 length 1200mm, 54 watts
Two Juwel High Lite Nature, T5 length 1200mm, 54 watts,
Filter Model Juwel Bioflow 8.0 Jumbo
Filter Media, see media product for replacement schedule.
1x Poly Pad, Carbon Sponge, Nitrate Sponge, Coarse Sponge, Cirax, 2x Fine Sponge.
Pump, Juwel Bioflow 1000
Heater, Juwel 300 watt heater

ETA: Sorry i have just realised i posted in the wrong section.

if it was me i would not get the rio 400 !

As i think its two small i have two Oscars my self i have just order a 700ltr tank for them it will just be 2-3mm gravel base as Oscars need so much room
and very high filter rate i am going for a sump filter system.

its just my way of thinking but mine are only 7 to 8 incs long and at the size i could see that in a 400lrt tank it was to small for them i would go for the biggest tank you can get the is some nice one
on eBay right now 6ft going very cheap but its upto you OSCARS get big very fast mine are 7-8 incs but will grown to about 10 -11 incs

so the more swimming space you can give the BETTER !!!!
