i think i have a virus and im usually ok at getting rid of these things but i cant find it, but i no its there.... does anyone no of a good pc forum i can got to for help thanks

Hi,

Depending on the virus you have there are some decent free tools on the net to try and assist that I have found quite good in the past depending on what you got mind...

One is Adaware

Another Is SpyBot

I recomend you download both of these free applications and once you intall them do an update on each then run them and see what they find..

There are some others but see how you go with them, they are both safe and wont add pop ups and adverts into your PC and they are free and wont do a scan then ask you to buy the full product although the adaware program can be upgraged if you pay you dont have to.

The only problem with Spybot and Adaware is they are for ad-ware and spyware removal ONLY. They do not detect and remove viruses. For an anti-virus, I recommend AVG. They offer an EXCELLENT free edition that has automatic updates for virus definitions. Try it out, it works quite well. http/free.avg.com/

Don't mix anti-viruse softwares, if you already have one, don't install another untill the old one is uninstalled. Google search "hyjack this" and you will find a site with a downloadable zip file. Open it and the genuine version wil open and run. It will then display every running process, and tell you where it's running from, so that you can find it. It will also work arround the old trick of changing the process name in task manager, showing it's realy file name and path from there you can take action.
