Help would be deeply appriciated!

depends how good you want it to look.

easiest but worst looking would be to make a pedastal (sp?) out of timber and ply at the same height it should would work but make sure you put lots of polysyrine (sp?) underneath to even out any irregularities

sorry bout the bad spelling. its late

Theres another tank which just goes 2" off the edge. I have plywood which i cut to the size of the tank.

If it goes 2" off the edge but has plywood under it, is it ok (an polystyrene)

is the desk built will enough to take the tank?

Yes, the wood is about an inch and a half thick and very sturdy.

My lfs (who are very honest) Suggested to put plywood underneath would be enough.

also. When i cut the plywood, it was cut

19x11

my tank is 18x12

So the missing inch would leave 0.5 of an inch on either side of the plywood (width)

is this also a problem?

I've decided to move it to a better part of the desk (where it will fit perfectly) And may move it back there when i get it extended! Thanks!

Seems this has been resolved, but for future reference its usually advisable to make sure all the bottom of an aquarium is supported.

Glass is very brittle and the force of the water on the unsupported bits will cause a bending moment in the glass which will concentrate in one area for as long as the tank is erected.

This may not manifest itself in a problem for a while, but eventually, it will crack.
