We brought a Coral a while ago believing it to be a Flowerpot Coral but we now realise it isn't. Does anyone have the correct name please?

The next two photos show something growing on our LR but not sure if it's good or bad. We are not sure if it's Aiptasia or not?

Any help much aprreciated,

I think the little anemone is a Majano Anemone, it's considered a pest as it will quickly reproduce and try to grab spots that other corals may inhabit...pack a sting that can (I think) Kill corals.. I have a rock infested with the little buggers myself, trying to come up with a stratagey to kill them ><.

And the (Polyps?) you purchased are common in the LFS around where I live, but i don't know what they are.

Agree with Zukari, mojano anemones. They can and will both kill corals, and over-run a tank. Best to kill it now with joes juice, kalkwasser or other chemical means similar for killing aiptasia. Unfortunately berghia and peppermint shrimp do NOT eat mojano.

The first pic looks to be a common palythoa. I'd have to see a shot of them closed up to be 100% sure, but I'm 95% sure they're palys.

Thanks to you both. :)
It's such a shame that something so pretty can be bad for your tank. :/
I've managed to get a picture of the coral closed up, hope that helps?

Thanks again,

Im going with button polyps also 95% positive they are.

Yup, definitely a Palythoa, as above posters has indicated they're commonly refferred to as brown button polyps. A very easy to care for coral and may eat floating mysis/brine/etc if it getst the chance. Feeding will increase growth but not required as they are photosynthetic.

Thank you so much everyone for the ID and thanks for the additional info Ski. ;)
