Last week, I bought some new additions for my tank - one of which was five rummy nose tetras. Last night, it occured to me that I only had 2 swimming about - Ive had no floaters, and ive checked the gravel and filter. Tonight, ive come home from a full day out, and now ive only got 1 left :/ Im really concerned, as the 2 I was watching last night appeared perfectly healthy swimming around with my danios. Im really confused - the only thing I could come up with was that something may have eaten them - although I dont know what Ive got that could have eaten them!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as Im stumped.

Fish list in my 150l :

2 Bosmani Rainbow
5 Serpae Tetra
Tiger Barbs
6 Danios
1 Whiptail Cat
1 Cory
2 Golden Ancictrus

Have you tested the water and done a water change? I don't think any of your fish would have eaten the rummy noses outright, but they qould have made short work of any corpses, I'm afraid :(

I have, I did it last night - everything was within normal parameters. Im just so confused because when I have had a death, ive always found the left overs :/

Blame the Tigerbarbs.. trust me.

if you've not got over 6, don't have any, they'll chase other fish and eat/kill them.

Or check behind your tank. Sounds like they could have jumped out.

I just mentioned elsewhere today that I had 3 ottos disappear within a couple days of getting them. Absolutely no sign of them! Not to mention a common pleco when I first got my tank. Still can't figure out what happened to that one either (8 months ago).
