Help Needed....

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I can get a hood for 30"x12" Clear Seal tank that isn't going to cost a bomb?!?!? My LFS has just quoted me £30.99 (without light fittings or bulb) Having priced up the fittings and bulb (another £30) is seems to me to be a bit on the expensive side!!

I've been given this tank and have told my son he can have it as an upgrade to his 2 foot tank so I'd really like to get the hood and lighting sorted out as cheap as possible

Any suggestions to solving this penny pinching problem would be grateful

you could always make one but i don't know if it'd be cheaper or not. hope that kinda helps

Unfortunately that's not really an option, also the wood and stuff would probably cost the same amount as the lightless hood if not more.

how much is a peice of MDF, a 4*2 peice would do your tank with no problems, and a few tacks, i did a hood for a 24"*12" for £6

It is food for thought........might have a word with my Dad and see what he can suggest with making a hood (he's a retired Chippy

I'll have a scout around for the light fittings and bulb.

when i was doing my second 70l, i got a light fitting from pets at home for £20 and then the bulb was about a tenner i think.
