I have a fluval edge aquarium which i have turned into marine. I have 24 surface mounted white led lights which are bight enough for my needs however i want to add some blue lighting.

I currently have a strip of 120 blue leds bought of ebay however the power supply just blew up and im a bit wary getting another one and i would prefer something of better quality.

I know that these blue leds dont have much beneficial impact for corals ect, i just think it looks nice in the evening and some of the coral glow a little.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to add some blue lighting to the edge, ideally not visible to much and how you have added blue light in ways other then fluorescent tubes.

thanks

I would just buy a better quality strip of leds :good: The only other solution would be very expensive - aquarays or the like

Can I just add something here about aquarays. They are very good lighting system when they are all working as they should. However I have four strips on my marine tank and every single strip has blown LEDs over the course of the first year. I have taken three strips back and got replacements but I can't be bothered to take the fourth strip back because the shop keeper is getting funny with me and it is such a hassel. Please please think careful before parting with the £180 for a double strip as it may turn out to be a very expensive 'hole in the head' type scenario.

All the best

Joe
