hi everyone again lol you will be sik of seeing me here my problem is that next week some time i have workmen coming to my house and they have to turn my electricity of for about 4 hours :/ will my fish/tank survive??? do i need to do anything without buying stuff as money is a bit tight just now (or maybe im tight being a scots man lol)if i needed to add warm water that wont be a problem as i have a gas cooker your help on this matter would be apprieciated thanks in advance joe :)

You could turn up the heater on the tank a few degrees to get it up there, the fish should be fine if it's only 4 hours, i'd guess maybe the tank ... if it's bigger like around 40 gall will only lose 1degree a hour, i'd think. you ca always add warm water aswell but honestly they should be fine for that short of period. If your house is sitting nice and warm then the tank shouldnt be a problem

Rinse your filtermedia before plugging the filters back on and there shouldn't be any problems.

4 hours isnt all that bad. as mentioned, raise the tank temp slowly a couple degrees before they come. And then, when they shutoff the power cover the tank with a thick blanket and you'll be fine :)

ok thanks for the repliws all ...................ill take on board what you all have said and do it when the workmen arrive:)
