Help! My Rams Have Had Babies!

hi,
i've been noticing that my rams have been very aggressive recently and tonight i noticed lots of little baby rams.. loads of them .. about 20-30 ish..

what should i do? i've got other fish in the tank with them like angels and stuff??

help!! i haven't got another tank setup to move them into yet..

<edit> i've separated them into a floating tupaware type box, ordered a floating hatchery.. what food should i get? what about:

feed them baby brine shrimp or crushed flake food. ive heard that that liquid fry stuf is mainly for livebearers.

Not the best chances for the fry. And if there are still 20 - 30 left, it seems that the other fishes or the tank enviroment did their job because there is normally a lot of more fry from one pair of rams. No joke, the biggest ammount of fry from one pair i've ever seen was more then 400! No nonsense, that is not a cock-and-bull story.

To breed rams (german or bolivian makes no difference) successfully, a extra tank without other tankmates is needed.

Liquifry, Nobilfluid, Sera-Micron will work for the very first time, but after one week it is important to continue with microworms, BBS, or extremely fine food from the ponds like Rotatoria and other. Dry-Food is not recommended because the fry did not get enough to grow up properly. Often it is very easy to identify non-optimal raised rams or Apistogramma in the shops. Just look at their eyes (no voodoo ;-) ). If the proportions are not ok, the eyes seems to be to big according to the complete fish: Hands of.

For food i would also feed brine shrimp, powderd flake food and other small live foods. Ive alos heard Hikari First Bites are good as well. Ive also read in a book called "500 ways to be a better freshwater fishkeeper" that you may need to cull some of the fry. That means that you may have to single out some of the weaker fry and feed them to the rest of the fish. I dont know exactly if that is a good idea though for I have never had fry to take care of. Ive just recently thought about breeding some fish so Ive read loads of information on fish breeding. I think thoguh that rams will take care of there young until they come to a certain age that they are able to explore and take care of themselves. Anyway since you've got a 55 gallon tank I would suggest seraching for a divider and split it and keep the parents in there and same with the fry. Thats just until the floating hatchery arrives then you probably could fit all of them in there. Hope this helps

Grow them out and sell onto LFS's theres plenty of money in a good batch, certainly around here, £5-7 each

still got them in a container.....i wouldnt imagine this is going to be good for them,,,you should just leave them to it,,,maybe seperate the angels and other fish they need the space to develope,and lots of fresh water and good food as others have said...

I have found that a big clump of healthy java moss good, the wrigglers seem to like to atach themselves to the fine hairs.
