Hello!
I've just started getting back into keeping fish after about 12 years & have bought a small Supafish Aqua 65 tank; it has been running ok for about a month but the pump has been gradually slowing down, to the point where it is now making a sort of gulping sound  .
I opened it up as much as I can - the unit where the impeller etc are is sealed - & it seems to be vibrating more then it should but that's about as technical as I can get!

My first thought was to contact the manufacturer but my wife has filed (ie probably recycled :*) ) the paperwork that came with the tank; ; tried googleing the tank name but came up with nothing.

Any thoughts (you need a new pump aside)?

Ben.

hey, if its slowing down something could either be blocking it or something could be stopping the propella thing going round.

either try and get into the sealed unit or get a new one??? ....

Had a look inside again and it looks as though there is a seal working loose and slowing the propeller down  looks as though I'm going to need a new one...

I found a way of getting it to work; it looks as though there was an airbubble inside the pump (not sure how that got there  )which I managed to get out by turning the pump upside down in the main part of the tank.
This then creates another problem  I have to take the pump out of the water to get it in and out of it's bracket; which is fine until I put it back in the bracket and the problem repeats itself. I have managed to lodge the pump into another location, which isn't perfect but at least it doesn't sound so bad and it's blowing a bit more air out.

Seems like a bit of a daft design to me...? :look:
