I bought 2 paroon 2 days ago ! but when i came home today , one of them turned greyish and its gills are abit reddish ! PLEASE HELP i DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CURE OR THREAT IT :( i tried feeding it and it wasnt eating but the other one was .

do you have a reading of your water parameters using a liquid test kit? (paper tests arent accurate)

yea did you cycle the tank? the red gills could be a product of ammonia.

Aversae; you need to change the water.

Drain the tank right down, leaving just enough water for the fish to swim upright, before refilling with temperature matched, dechlorinated water.

So we can better help you and your fish, could you answer these questions, please?

How big is your tank?

How big are the fish?

Does the tank have a filter?

Can you get any water test kits (especially for ammonia and nitrite)?

well, your fish will die soon, so sorry
Not necessarily; if the OP can get back to us with the information I've asked for, we might well be able to help.

@ncguppy830: oh, very simple, his fish tank is too small, and the paroon shark can't live in that small tank,( i guest his tank is about 10gallons???)...done

@fluttermoth: you can't help him...his fish are already die...i guest he will buy new fish for his tank...

How do you know his tank is 10 Gallons? I don't read that anywhere on this thread...........

And his fish may possibly be dying but that does not mean just to give up!

A bit defeatist really. Got to keep hope and to try his utmost to save his fishes, even if the tank is too small they can survive and given to a new home.

But it sounds as if the fish is suffering from ammonia poisoning due to the tank not being cycled perhaps, this would mean he has to do large water changes every day but to be honest there is a lack of information on anything on which we can work with to try and help Aversae with advice.

OP this is how big your fish will get.

Are you able to put them in an extremely large tank? If not you should probably take them back to the fish store and fishless cycle your tank with ammonia. Then get some fish that are more suitable for keeping in aquariums.
