Help My Mollie is eating my plants away!

Hey guys i have this one black mollie in a 46 gallon tank and i just went and bought some live plants. Sorry i dont know what kind of plants they are but she is just eating them all. How do i stop this. If she keeps this up i will have to get plants every other day. I think that the plants might be a congensis or anubias gigantae. Any help Is great!!

i don't think that there is much you can do to stop that, some fish just like to eat plants!

i suggest that u get plastic plants that ways ur mollie wont eat the plants

Have you fed your molly with any plantfood before? I mean for example sera flora? If you have and this is not enough to your molly then try to give it a small piece of cucumber or zuccini every now and then. Piece stays in bottom if you pierce it with a fork.

I found my mollys didn't actually eat the plant, but ate the algae off the plants leaves, especially the Anubias which are pretty "hard" plants.

Are you sure that you have enough light for the pl,ants and that they aren't dying and being eaten as they die?

Hey thanx guys for your replies. I do have fake plants in the tank as well. About the light i have the light on for about 9 hours i dont know if thats enough. I dont think i have ever feed my molly with anything that has plantfood. I do think she was eating something off the plants but she did eat half of 2 plants.

You might want to try putting in Java ferns which fish don't like to eat.
