OMG, last night i was measuring all of my fish. Its kind of hard to measure my jawfish, but it was 3.75 inches. Then this morning I woke up and it was 2 inches!! Can you help me?? Is this a normal function? Please reply quickly. It seems to be shrinking even more!!! :/

The only thing i could think of is your salinity is way off. Or your fish is a freshwater fish, being kept in a saline solution.

No fish shrinks an inch and a half over night withought something serioulsy wrong. It probably isnt a starvation ting, otherwise it would be more gradual.

If a fish shrank that much through osmosis it would kill it sure enough. I'm afraid I find this very hard to believe... You sure you haven't got two of these fish? Di you measure it one time in cms and the other in inches?

What were you measuring them for anyway?

Lol - very unusual post... Ot's likely you measured the fish incorrectly one of the two times or, not having realised it, measured the fish on one occasion when it was not entirely parallel to the glass. If you are certain neither is the case, perhaps you measure the fish from a different point in the tank or when it was a different distance away from the glass. Water and glass distort shapes in weird ways. It would be extremely easy to measure a fish one centimeter away from the glass ne day and then 2 centimeters away the next and not even notice the distance if it weren't for the size 'change'.
