So these guys normally stay at the bottom but today one and only one has been near the top. She seems mostly healthy, her color is vibrant but she is just staying near the top and moves her fins. But every once and a while she'll stop moving amd then start again... She also just doesn't seem to be swimming right... It almost looks lile an early swim bladder starting but Idk. Here are a few photos:

My gudgeons did not read the books. They fed from the water surface like the other fish. Yes, they did eat food on the bottom of the tank but before it sank they fed from the surface. So just being at the top isn't a problem. However, if a fish behaves oddly while it's there may indicate a problem.
It may be because she's new. It may be she's suffering stress from being transported to the store to your home. It may be the water she came in is different from yours and she's taking time to adjust.
At the moment, keep an eye on here and if she starts to look worse, post again.

Yah I do think it may be swim bladders... I think she may be the food hogger in there and now she's paying the price for it... She is pretty bouyant and sometimes will tilt to the side... A few times she was floating nose up

This is her now... I turned down the light brightness in the tank to help calm her for now

Hmmm, that doesn't look good. It suggests the stresses of the last few days in transit have affected her.
I don't know what to suggest :(

Im going to do a treatment of swim bladders. I wont feed for 3 days. Dont worry these gals have eaten a lot so their fine to fast a few days. The day after day 3 I will give them a skinned pea, as I have heard that helps.

Skinned peas? Tomorrow, I might make a tutorial on how to prepare boiled mushed peas. It seems to solve my fishes' constipation problems but I'm not sure if it will work on swim bladder problems.

This fish just looks stressed to me. Most probably the water is different from where it came from. It wouldn't hurt to put a lot of floating plants in the tank, so this guy doesn't feel so exposed.

Remember this is a new tank, I have always felt that these guys need to be put into a mature aquarium, one that has being running for several months.

Im still going to treat it as swim bladder... I wont feed for a few days
