My fish have been sick with ich/white spot. I've been treating for 3 days, and have seen improvement in all but one. Today, another one has gotten pretty sick. He's having trouble swimming and his tail has gotten large--it looks like it is swollen, and it is whiter than usual. He is a black phantom tetra. My other black phantom is the other one who is sick. He has whitespot that won't go away, and tail rot, but he's been acting ok (amazingly).

Will adding salt help? I've turned up the temperature, and I've been treating with victoria green. I have 10 tetras in a 20 gl tank, the black phantoms are the only ones that seem pretty sick (2 white skirt tetras, still have a bit of white spot, 3 glowlight tetras, looking a bit pale but ok, 3 other tetras).

Anything else I can do? I've had 2 fish die already, I don't want them all to die! :-(

I'm afraid I don't have too much advice to give you. I hope your fish's health improves! best of luck :/

as far as I know, adding aquarium salt should help out the situation and won't harm your fish, but I would get other opinions. I'm no pro. all I know about what not to do with salt, is add it excessively or put it in a tank with cories. Its no miracle worker, but hopefully it will help.....

I'm nervous about telling you that, not positive I'm right!
get the opinion of a pro. maybe try PMing someone in the forum who really knows their stuff and perhaps hasn't seen your post?

OK thanks for the help. I'm going to the LFS tomorrow and ask for some help. And salt perhaps.
