my Cypriniformes algue eater has taken the black scales off one of my goldfish, which happens to be 1/4 of the goldfish in a day. left the orange and silver scales.
the fish still eating swimming around bit slower than normal.

and i have a orange and silver goldfish and it has taken 3 silver scales off that one from the middle. that one swimming around as normal, still a crazy fish.

they had plenty of food no need to eat each other!

unless its a way of working out whos top fish

or the algue eater was doing good and removing old scales or ill scales, but to me the scales looked alright until he ate them off. my poor fish, i woke this morning and the fish is still alive i hope he doesnt die?

should i put them together or get rid of algue eater

only had them 4 days and its all going wrong ive seperated them from the algue eater.

please help urgent

Sounds like you have a chinese algae eater in with Goldfish??

Algae eaters can be aggressive and will eat the slime off the goldfish which leads to bacterial infections

You need to keep the water perfectly clean, and add some melafix or similar to stop infection.

what size tank are they in?
What size are the fish
do you have any water stats?

Algae eaters, esp. CAE are aggressive by nature and they also turn to meaty foods as they mature. They will go after the slime coats of other fish, and since goldfish are slow and huge, they make for easy targets. Consider transferring the AE or returning it, if you can.

Also, considering the fact that you added two incompatible fish... how big is the tank? If it is anything like a 10 gallon tank, you're no doubt overstocked when it comes to the goldfish, let along the AE.

P.S. please be a little more patient. Your particular question is so common that it is overlooked by many members on here. It's a "someone else will get it" mentality, so sometimes you need to wait for someone to come along who is more eager to answer such a question.
Also, it's not a bad idea to use the chat or search functions while you wait for an answer, since most questions have no doubt already been asked and answered at length.

Good luck sorting out your problem.
